Gabriel Q. Fleetwood is a 200-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) and began teaching yoga in 2020 after studying with Emery Bryant. He has taught over 750+ hours of yoga across southwest Missouri since the completion of his first yoga training. Gabriel is currently a candidate to become an RYT-500 under the tutelage of Cady O’Quinn and should graduate in summer 2024 from Sumits Hot Yoga, Springfield.
His yoga journey began in 2017 when he sought mental refuge from a hectic lifestyle bouncing between several jobs. Yoga taught him to slow down and balance all aspects of his life, and he now enjoys sharing that gift with others. Trained in an Ashtanga-vinyasa style practice, Gabriel believes the breath should be the guiding force in any yoga practice, allowing the body and mind to stay present. He also enjoys incorporating aspects of Iyengar and Bikram into his yoga teaching because there is so much to be gleaned from the different styles of yoga.
Outside of the yoga studio, Gabriel is the director of bands at Carver Middle School in Springfield as well as a percussion instructor with the Kickapoo High School Golden Arrow Band. In his spare time, he enjoys hanging out with his friends, traveling with his boyfriend, and just relaxing at home with their four cats.
